The Alumni Jacket

At Evolution of Style we are always looking for ways to expand our craft, either with unique designs, new fabrics, or in this case, by introducing a vintage style jacket.

We are exited to launch our Alumni Series of vintage bomber jackets. We wanted to find a way to combine our love of College Football and the art of well tailored clothes.

I attended the University of Maryland and it has been hard to watch our football program suffer in the last few years. I wanted to create a jacket that honored our rich history as well as the 1953 National Championship team.

The Black and Gold color scheme pays tribute to the original color’s of the University which are referenced in our fight song.  I wanted to stay away from the well known red that we see splashed all over the current uniforms. By sticking to the Black and Gold I wanted alumni to be able to wear this jacket not just to games but during everyday use.

We also used a high quality lightweight wool to make the jacket. It is heavy enough to keep you warm on crisp fall days, but also cool enough to be worn on a summer’s evening.

The first few jackets have already started to roll out on a limited basis. One of the first landed on the current Maryland coach, DJ Durkin thanks to Ben Page.

We are currently working on designs for Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, and Colorado.
